  • La praticità in ogni dettaglio della camera

    Ho soggiornato presso Green Court Residence City Center, Shanghai, People's Square per quattro notti. Invece di lasciarmi distrarre da angoli "instagrammabili", mi sono concentrato sulla reale funzionalità dei servizi offerti in camera. Ho scoperto che l'attenzione dell'hotel si manifesta in dettagli discreti e naturali, ben lontani da quell'approccio che privilegia l'estetica alla sostanza, tipico di molti appartamenti con servizi.
    Ho alloggiato in una suite con una camera da letto di 65 metri quadrati e il primo dettaglio che mi ha colpito, appena entrato, è stato l'armadio a tutta altezza nell'ingresso. Oltre alla classica zona per appendere i cappotti, c'è uno spazio aperto dedicato alla base dove ho potuto far scivolare la valigia senza dovermi chinare. Un grande specchio a figura intera è integrato nell'anta dell'armadio, permettendomi di controllare il mio abbigliamento senza creare ingombro davanti allo specchio del bagno. La panca adiacente, utile per cambiarsi le scarpe, è imbottita per garantire comfort — evitando così spigoli duri che premono sulle gambe — e l'armadio nasconde ombrelli di riserva e un calzascarpe, evitandomi di dover scendere a comprarli.
    L'angolo cottura a vista ha superato le mie aspettative; non si trattava di una cucina pensata solo per l'estetica. Il piano di lavoro ospita un piano cottura a induzione integrato e un supporto adiacente con tre padelle antiaderenti di varie dimensioni: l'ideale per qualsiasi esigenza, dal bollire la pasta al cuocere una bistecca. La dotazione era completa di spatole, mestoli, spugne e persino contenitori per alimenti. Sotto il piano si trova un frigorifero a doppia anta con una capacità di oltre 100 litri; il vano frigo dispone di un ripiano dedicato alle bevande, mentre il congelatore ha ospitato senza problemi il gelato e i surgelati che avevo acquistato. In un angolo è collocata una mini lavastoviglie: un grande vantaggio per i viaggiatori pigri come me, dato che non ho dovuto lavare i piatti a mano. Il rubinetto eroga acqua potabile direttamente, eliminando la necessità di farla bollire e aspettare che si raffreddi; quando avevo fretta, potevo semplicemente riempire la mia tazza da viaggio e uscire.
    La zona giorno è progettata interamente all'insegna della praticità. La console sospesa per la TV, larga due metri, è priva di decorazioni superflue, e il proiettore 4K è già collegato alle principali piattaforme di streaming, senza bisogno di accedere con i propri account personali. Il divano è dotato di uno schienale alto e sostenuto che non cede quando ci si rilassa, mentre la lampada da terra regolabile permette di leggere la sera senza il fastidio di luci a soffitto troppo forti. Il tavolino accanto alla finestra è provvisto di una base di ricarica wireless: ho potuto semplicemente appoggiarvi il telefono per ricaricarlo, senza dover cercare un alimentatore. La cura dei dettagli in camera da letto e in bagno è notevole: il materasso è a molle insacchettate indipendenti (quindi niente cigolii quando ci si gira) e i cuscini sono disponibili in diverse altezze e gradi di rigidità; soffrendo di problemi cervicali, ho scelto il cuscino più basso e ho dormito profondamente tutta la notte. Il bagno presenta una disposizione funzionale che separa la zona umida da quella asciutta; la doccia offre un flusso d'acqua costante sia dal soffione che dal doccino, con acqua calda disponibile in soli tre secondi. L'ampio mobile sotto il lavabo offre molto spazio per riporre prodotti per la cura della pelle e articoli da bagno, lasciando il piano d'appoggio libero e ordinato. Il WC intelligente è dotato di sedile riscaldato e funzioni bidet, garantendo comfort anche in inverno, mentre l'asciugacapelli a ioni negativi ad alta potenza asciuga i capelli lunghi in soli cinque minuti.
    Dopo un soggiorno di quattro giorni, non ho trovato alcun servizio o accessorio che fosse puramente decorativo; ogni elemento sembrava pensato per rispondere alle reali esigenze dell'ospite. A differenza di molti appartamenti che privilegiano l'estetica rispetto alla funzionalità, Green Court Residence City Center, Shanghai, People's Square punta su dotazioni pratiche e di alta qualità che garantiscono davvero un soggiorno confortevole.

  • È il modo autentico in cui gli abitanti del posto vivono la città

    Bisogna capire una cosa: visitare Shanghai ed evitare i sovraffollati hotel "virali" per soggiornare al Green Court Residence City Center, Shanghai, People's Square per tre giorni mi ha permesso di entrare in una dimensione di relax, come se avessi davvero una casa in città.
    Ho scelto questo posto esclusivamente per la sua posizione: a 10 minuti a piedi dal Giardino del Mandarino Yu e a 15 minuti di passeggiata dal South Bund. Mi ha tenuto lontano dalla folla opprimente della zona principale del Bund, permettendomi al contempo di immergermi appieno nell'atmosfera autentica e vivace della vecchia Shanghai. Non appena ho varcato il cancello del complesso residenziale trascinando la valigia, il rumore della strada è stato in gran parte attutito dall'ombra degli alberi di canfora. Alla reception non c'erano convenevoli di routine: dopo aver consegnato il documento ed effettuato il check-in, l'addetta mi ha consegnato un elenco scritto a mano con i suoi posti preferiti: una bottega di *pan-fried buns* (panini al vapore saltati in padella) all'ingresso del vicolo, aperta da vent'anni; un locale di noodle in stile locale aperto fino alle due del mattino; e un vecchio mercato di prodotti freschi frequentato dagli abitanti del quartiere. È stato un consiglio cento volte più affidabile di qualsiasi guida trovata online.
    Ho prenotato un appartamento con una camera da letto e un piccolo angolo cottura a vista; la prima impressione, entrando, è stata quella di non percepire la fredda e asettica atmosfera tipica degli hotel. Gli arredi in legno dai toni caldi erano piacevoli al tatto – senza spigoli grezzi o materiali scadenti – e le ampie vetrate a tutta altezza catturavano tutta la luce del pomeriggio. Alzando lo sguardo, potevo scorgere le guglie dei tre iconici grattacieli di Lujiazui spuntare dietro i tetti dei vecchi *longtang* (i tradizionali vicoli di Shanghai). La cucina è stata una piacevole sorpresa: completamente attrezzata, dalle pentole alla lavastoviglie. Il giorno seguente mi sono alzato presto apposta per visitare il vicino mercato di Ninghai East Road; ho comprato dei *mooncake* al maiale appena sfornati e verdure fresche, per poi prepararmi con calma una ciotola di noodle alle verdure nella mia piccola cucina: un'esperienza decisamente più confortevole rispetto alla frenesia di dover arrivare in tempo per la colazione in hotel. Chiunque apprezzi la cura dei dettagli adorerà questo posto: la rigidità del materasso era perfetta per chi, come me, soffre di mal di schiena, e c'era la possibilità di scegliere tra cuscini morbidi e rigidi; ho dormito profondamente fino alle 9 del mattino, in modo naturale, per due giorni di fila. L'acqua calda in bagno arrivava all'istante (nel giro di tre secondi); dopo la doccia, mi avvolgevo nell'accappatoio, mi lasciavo cadere sulla poltrona a sacco in soggiorno e accendevo il proiettore per guardare film classici: un'esperienza infinitamente migliore rispetto al fissare il minuscolo televisore di un hotel. L'area comune al secondo piano è ben lontana dall'essere un fondale costruito ad arte per Instagram; una libreria a tutta parete è piena di album vintage che ritraggono la vecchia Shanghai. Un pomeriggio mi sono seduto lì con il portatile per due ore, mentre un altro ospite, poco distante, consigliava a un amico luoghi locali meno noti: nessuno mi ha fatto pressione per acquistare qualcosa, né ha invaso i miei spazi.
    Durante il soggiorno non ho dovuto affannarmi a seguire un itinerario serrato: passeggiavo con calma fino al mercato mattutino del Giardino Yu, mi godevo la brezza del fiume lungo il South Bund al tramonto e, dopo una serata stancante, evitavo la metropolitana affollata per limitarmi a svoltare l'angolo e rientrare nella quiete dell'appartamento. L'ultimo giorno non ho programmato alcuna visita turistica; ho preferito comprare una birra ghiacciata e dell'anguria appena tagliata nel minimarket al piano terra, per poi restare alla finestra a osservare le luci della città. Mi sono reso conto che questo ritmo rilassato, che permette di vivere come una persona del posto, offriva un modo molto più piacevole di scoprire Shanghai rispetto al semplice collezionare una dozzina di attrazioni turistiche.
    La prossima volta che visiterò Shanghai, non perderò tempo con gli hotel alla moda amati dagli influencer: farò di Green Court Residence City Center, Shanghai, People's Square il mio punto di riferimento.
